As the recognised trade union operating within Currys the Currys Trade Union can provide various services – to be entitled to services you must be a member. It is free to join.
The Trade Union industrial relations reps across the business provide a variety of services both personal – from representation at disciplinary/ grievance situations through to support for colleagues with mental health issues (all our reps have qualified as mental health first aiders), mediation (we have an ACAS certified mediator), parental, maternity leave situations, flexible working requests and sickness/absence policy.
Through to corporate services-consultation around substantial change, rotas etc, negotiating terms and conditions, policy changes, redundancy, transfer of undertakings, protection of employment- TUPE and collective bargaining, bonus criteria etc. – we cannot give advice upon pensions & share plans because of legislation.
Our health and safety representatives can conduct investigations into anything which may have an impact upon our members health, safety and wellbeing using legislation made available under the health and safety at work act.
For a full description of services or advice on a situation relevant to you please contact your site Currys Trade Union representative. If your local representative is unavailable, please contact the Currys Trade Union office using the number on your membership card and leave your contact details.
NB. For colleagues with health, safety and mental health issues you do NOT have to be a member to obtain help. Contact your local Rep, the core team or Katie Scott by email. Katie will assign the nearest available resource to you.
The Currys Trade Union is constituted within the context of both Informing and Consulting Employees (ICE) in respect of all employees health, safety and well being concerns and The Trade Union and Labour Relations Consolidation Act (TULRCA) for members who wish us to engage in collective bargaining and other TU activities on their behalf.
